Wargaming in Middle Eath/Blog Update

Just a short post to explain the blog cleanup. There are a lot of gaps in the dates of the blog posts, going across several years. I have been blogging about wargaming at random interviews for many years now, across multiple specific blogs. But one of the reasons I don't blog more often is that everything is spread across multiple sites & blogs. This blog doesn't get the most traffic, but it is my most 'generic' wargaming diary. My Middle Earth project is my most ambitious, but also my slowest project and because of this the specialised blog for it see little to no updates, and almost no traffic at all. So I moved the older posts over to here, and decided from now on to keep posting Middle Earth here as well.

This means less gaps in this blog as I don't feel forced to abandon it for up to a year at a time when I'm working on chunks of Middle Earth. I will still be keeping all my 6mm wargaming on its own dedicated page (That gets a huge amount of traffic for something so niche and for not being updated regularly) but this blog is likely to just become my generic hobby page rather than 'fantasy only'. Which also means adding in more generic Sci-fi postings (I've been on a mad Judge Dredd wargaming collection spree lately. Including getting started on an almost 30 year dream of seeing Sinister Dexter on the table top!)

And my wife brought me Epic Hail Caesar, which other than a few models here and there, is my first proper historical wargame (that's not being used for fantasy based rules). I have a huge amount of Celts to be painting!

As for middle earth, I have to get back at it this year with far more urgency. A lot of Made to Order runs in the last year, as well as some (unwise?) bulk purchases means that I myself am now sitting pretty on 43% more miniatures for the project overall than I was maybe 12 months ago. I am happy to say I have finally managed to get almost everything for a complete Swan Knight War of the Ring battleforce, other than the Dol Amroth Men at arms miniatures which were never re-released on the made to order.

The idea was to clean up the blog, get back to painting, and cut down on any further purchases for a little while as I'd managed to snag almost everything I really wanted for the project over all. Except for a couple of the larger resin forgeworld models from the later Hobbit range, I'd managed to even pick up some of the rarer bits in the past year for some really cut throat prices.

Then GW go and announce the new Made to Order, with the two bits of resin terrain which just happens to be some of the last things I'm missing....
